	Leslie McFarlane, better known under the house pen name Franklin W. Dixon (The Hardy Boys) was born on this day in 1902. McFarlane was the first and most prolific ghost writer of the early Hardy Boys series under the Dixon name, having written 19 of the first 25 novels.
